Günter Riepert

Günter Riepert (born September 13, 1952 , † December 3, 2009 in Lünen ) was a German football player .

The midfielder started in TuS Eving-Lindenhorst's youth . From there he moved to Lüner SV in the then second-rate Regionalliga West at the beginning of the 1970s . Riepert experienced his greatest time between 1974 and 1978 in the 2nd Bundesliga . There he played a total of 97 games for Schwarz-Weiß Essen and scored 15 goals. With the ETB, Günter Riepert rose in 1978 in the Oberliga Nordrhein. In the 1979/80 season , with 20 goals, he played a major role in the fact that Schwarz-Weiß Essen reached the runner-up behind 1. FC Bocholt and thus only narrowly failed to return to the 2. Bundesliga. At the beginning of the 1980s he joined again the Lüner SV, which had been relegated from the upper to the association league. After his professional career, Riepert joined BV Brambauer , for whom he played in the national league in the eighties and worked as a coach in the youth field in later years.

After a long and serious illness, Günter Riepert died in December 2009 at the age of only 57.
