Günter Stopperich (born May 1, 1927 in Glogau ) is a former German tourism manager.

Career

Stopperich was a tourist advisor to the United States Armed Forces in Europe for their Armed Forces Recreation Centers in Berchtesgaden and Chiemsee . From 1960 he was managing director and spa director of the Berchtesgadener Land tourist association, today the Berchtesgaden-Königssee tourist region . In 1964 he was a spokesman for the IX. Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck. The German National Tourist Board appointed him from 1977 to 1981 as their representative for the countries of Asia in Tokyo . From 1981 to 1990, Stopperich was the director of the Bavarian State Foreign Transport Association on behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in order to set up tourism organizations.

After his retirement in 1990 he founded the agency for tourist contacts in Munich. During this time (1990–1997) he was in charge of building up tourism in the new federal states (Saxony and Brandenburg).

From 1990 to 1997 he was a lecturer in tourism economics at the universities of applied sciences in Munich and Kempten .

Today he lives in Utting am Ammersee .
