Günther E. Buchholz

Günther E. Buchholz (born June 11, 1952 in Münster ) is a German dentist and was deputy chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV) until the end of April 2017 . As the central association of the seventeen statutory dentists' associations in sixteen federal states, the KZBV represents the interests of around 61,000 contract dentists, one of the largest specialist groups in terms of numbers. The institution is an organ of self-administration in the legal form of a corporation under public law .

Buchholz is married and has three children.

Life

After studying dentistry from 1976 to 1981 at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster , and subsequent assistantship and doctorate , Buchholz founded his own practice in Telgte in 1984.

From 1985 to 1989 he was involved in various committees of the dental self-administration as well as in the Free Association of German Dentists in Westphalia-Lippe. In 1993, Günther Buchholz was elected to the board of the Westphalia-Lippe Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists , to which he was a member for ten years until 2003, from 1997 as deputy chairman of the board. In 1998 he was appointed to the board of the KZBV.

When the legislature introduced the full-time position of the board members of statutory health insurance and statutory health insurance associations in 2005, Günther Buchholz was elected to the office of deputy chairman of the KZBV and held numerous additional offices in this function. Since 2005 he has been a member of the shareholders' meeting for the service provider organizations and from 2012 to 2014 he was alternating chairman of the society for telematics applications of the health card (gematik). Günther Buchholz is a member of the Presidium of the Society for Insurance Science and Design (GVG) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank . He was also a member of the finance committees of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) , the Institute for Quality Assurance and Transparency in Health Care (IQTIG) and the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) .

Buchholz is a member of the Catholic student associations AV Zollern Münster and KDStV Bavaria Bonn .

tasks

The rules of procedure of the KZBV distribute the departments among the three members of the board. Buchholz was responsible for the areas of human resources, finance and internal administration , telematics , data carrier exchange , labor law and auditing matters.

He was committed to data protection in the dental practice, including in particular the protection of the data of patients and dentists. He played a key role in the development of the guidelines on data protection and data security for the dental practice EDP as well as in the introduction of the legally prescribed paperless billing of contract dental services in the KZVs.
