Günther Eisenreich

Günther Eisenreich (born April 12, 1933 in Leipzig ; † January 16, 2015 in Leipzig) was a German mathematician who worked particularly in the field of algebraic geometry .

Live and act

Günther Eisenreich studied mathematics at the University of Leipzig . In 1963 he was with the work of investigation of ideals in places rings doctorate and in 1968 habilitation . In 1970 he was appointed professor for theoretical mathematics at the University of Leipzig . From 1981 he was head of the algebra department.

Günther Eisenreich retired in 1998 .

In addition to his scientific work, Günther Eisenreich has written several textbooks and monographs. His four-language dictionaries for mathematics and physics, which he wrote with Ralf Sube , have been published in several editions. Günther Eisenreich has also translated, edited and published works in foreign languages.
