Günther Leiner

Günther Leiner (born August 10, 1939 in Axams ) is an Austrian primary physician and politician ( ÖVP ). Leiner was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1990 to 2001 .

education and profession

Leiner attended elementary and secondary school from 1945 to 1953 and graduated from secondary school in 1961 with the Matura. From 1961 to 1963 he studied pedagogy and philosophy at the University of Vienna and from 1964 medical studies at the University of Innsbruck . In 1972 Leiner graduated with the academic degree Dr. med. univ. from, he had already done military service in 1969.

After completing his studies, Leiner completed a specialist training in internal medicine at the University Clinic in Innsbruck and between 1979 and 1991 was chief physician at the Bad Hofgastein spa center . From 1991 he headed the Institute for Rheumatology , Rehabilitation and Holistic Medicine as a primary school.

politics

From 1990, Leiner was deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Pongau and from 1990 regional chairman of the ÖAAB Salzburg. In addition, he held the presidency of the Salzburg relief organization and was vice-president of the Austrian relief organization .

Between November 5, 1990 and October 31, 2001, Leiner represented the ÖVP in the National Council. During his time as a member of parliament, Leiner was a long-time health spokesman for the ÖVP parliamentary club. He is President of the European Health Forum Gastein .
