Günther M. Sander

Günther M. Sander (born January 23, 1961 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

After graduating from the Canisius College in Berlin , Sander studied law at the Free University of Berlin from 1979 to 1984 . During his legal clerkship from 1985 to 1988, he worked as a research assistant with Ulrich Eisenberg at the chair for criminal law, criminology, juvenile criminal law and the penal system at the Free University of Berlin. In 1988 he entered the higher judicial service of the State of Berlin , where he initially worked for the public prosecutor, the Tiergarten district court and the Berlin regional court . In 1991 Sander was appointed judge at the Berlin Regional Court, but was immediately seconded to the Senate Department for Justice, Judicial Examination Office, until 1994 . Together with Klaus Miebach, he is the editor of a volume of the Munich Commentary on the Criminal Code (Sections 185–262 StGB) and co-author of this volume.
