Günther Prokop

Günther Prokop (born December 21, 1969 in Passau ) is professor of automotive technology at the Friedrich List faculty at the TU Dresden .

Life

Günther Prokop graduated from the Leopoldinum Gymnasium in Passau in 1988 with the Abitur . He then studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich until 1993 . Here he was supported by scholarships from the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Siemens study group. After acquiring the degree in engineering , he devoted himself to his doctorate on the subject of "Optimal process dynamics in manipulation with robots", which he completed in 1998. After a year-long stay at the University of California, Berkeley , he worked at Audi from 1999 to 2002 and at BMW from 2002 to 2010 . On October 1, 2010 he was appointed professor for automotive engineering at the TU Dresden. In the following year he became managing director of the Institute for Automotive Technology Dresden .
