Günther Schwamm (born March 28, 1935 in Kaiserslautern , † February 16, 2015 in Essen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Sponge, who was a Catholic denomination, attended elementary school and vocational school from 1942 to 1949 and trained as a locksmith from 1950 to 1953. He then worked as a locksmith and was a pieceworker at Pfaff Industriemaschinen GmbH in Kaiserslautern, where he was also a member of the works council from 1965.

Schwamm had been a member of the SPD since 1961. From 1970 to 1980 he was deputy chairman of the local association and in 1980 chairman of the local association in Kaiserslautern. In 1976 he became a member of the sub-district executive committee of the SPD. In 1973 he became sub-district chairman and in 1976 district chairman Palatinate of the working group for employee issues and a member of the state board of Rhineland-Palatinate of the AfA.
