Günther Thomae

Günther Thomae (born September 3, 1953 in Sonneberg ) is a former German volleyball player . He played 167 international matches for the GDR .

Life

After graduating from high school, he studied sports science at the DHfK in Leipzig and became a certified sports teacher . Finally, he acquired the qualification as a license coach for volleyball.

From 1969 to 1986 Thomae played at SC Dynamo Berlin , with the exception of 1973–1976, when he was active for SC Leipzig .
