features

Fragrant belt foot ( Cortinarius flexipes )

Macroscopic features

  • The hat is more or less hygrophan. The very young fruit bodies are often covered with a Velum universale . A Cortina can also often be found in older specimens .
  • The stem below the Cortina is usually girdled or latticed in several zones.
  • Meat and hat skin react with lye from black-brown to black.
  • The color of the slats is very variable; The color of the young lamellae is of particular importance for species identification.
  • The spore powder is rusty brown as with all Corti arias.
  • Typical smells are common , for example of fruit, gas, iodine, radish or burned hair.

Microscopic features

  • The spores are round, elliptical or almond-shaped. The surface is mostly warty.
  • Occasionally, cheilocystides occur.

Ecology and phenology

The belt feet and water heads grow on earth in the deciduous or coniferous forest. The time of appearance is mainly from autumn to late autumn, with a few species already growing in spring or summer.
