G. Srinivasan

G. Srinivasan ( Gopalratnam Srinivasan ; born September 23, 1958 in Chennai , Tamil Nadu , † May 27, 2007 in Manali , Himachal Pradesh ) was a Tamil film producer .

Srinivasan co-founded and ran the independent film production company Madras Talkies with his brother, director and screenwriter Mani Ratnam . His father Gopalratnam was a film producer, as was his older brother G. Venkateswaran .

Srinivasan's most successful film productions include Iruvar (1997), Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Aayitha Ezhuthu (2004), Yuva (2004) and Guru (2007).

G. Srinivasan died in a trekking accident , he slipped and fell into a gorge 30 meters deep. He leaves behind his wife and three daughters.
