The 19th Giro d'Italia took place from May 10th to May 31st, 1931.

The bike race consisted of 12 stages with a total length of 3,012 kilometers. 65 of 109 participants reached the finish. Francesco Camusso won the Giro ahead of Luigi Giacobbe , the team championship was won by the Legnano team .

In 1931 the pink jersey with the characteristic color of the Gazzetta dello Sport was introduced as a symbol of the leading racing driver.
