Giro d'Italia 1979
The 62nd Giro d'Italia was held in 20 sections and 3301 kilometers from May 17th to June 6th 1979 and won by the Italian Giuseppe Saronni . Of the 130 riders who started, 111 reached the finish in Milan . What was remarkable about this Giro was the number of time trials. There were a total of five tests against the clock , four time trials and a prologue.
