The 7th Giro d'Italia took place from May 21st to June 8th 1919 and was the first Giro after the First World War . The bike race consisted of 10 stages with a total length of 2,984 kilometers.

Out of 66 participants, only 15 made it to the finish. Costante Girardengo won his first Giro victory in front of the "eternal second" Gaetano Belloni . With Marcel Buysse from Belgium, a foreigner was on the podium for the first time.
