The non-profit order procurement and sales company of workshops for disabled people in Berlin (GAV) is an association of workshops for disabled people (WfbM). In addition to its members, the GAV is also active for the other WfbMs in the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg .

history

The GAV was founded on 1996 by Berlin workshop owners. At the beginning of 2010, 11 institutions or workshop providers from Berlin and Brandenburg as well as GDW eG Kassel are shareholders of GAV.

Corporate purpose

The GAV was founded in order to be able to offer services with a network of WfbM customers that an individual workshop cannot cover, such as B. a nationwide shredding of files . In addition, customers should be given the opportunity to access a wide variety of services from several workshops, but to have a central contact person.

In addition to organizing advanced training and information events for employees with disabilities and the specialist staff of the WfbMs, the main task of GAV is to acquire orders from customers for the workshops and their integration companies and to coordinate the execution of the orders.

Since the main task of the GAV is to carry work into the workshops , the tax authorities recognize that the GAV exclusively and directly pursues tax-privileged purposes within the meaning of Sections 51 ff of the Tax Code .

The GAV organizes advanced training events for the employees of the workshops for disabled people; some of these are carried out together with sister societies and the Federal Working Group for workshops for disabled people .

GAV's range of services for commercial customers and public institutions includes all areas that are carried out by WfbM's by employees with disabilities. Classic work areas of the WfbM's are assembly , packaging , counting and sorting , packaging , metal and wood processing and gardening and landscape maintenance, digital and offset printing , the production of advertising materials, dispatch and lettershop work , electronic archiving ( Digitization , scanning), the catering as well as the shredding of files and electrical and electronic disposal .

The workshops and the GAV are recognized institutions within the meaning of SGB ​​IX , the work performance of people with disabilities included in the services can therefore be credited half of a severely disabled compensation tax, and the reduced VAT of currently 7% is shown.

Nationwide network of affiliated institutions

The GAV is integrated into a nationwide network of comparable companies, consisting of the GDW Hessen-Thuringia ( Kassel ), the GfA Sachsen gGmbH ( Leipzig ), the GDW Niedersachsen, Bremen, Sachsen-Anhalt eG ( Oschersleben ), the GDW-Nord eG ( Rendsburg ), GDW NRW GmbH ( Essen ) and GDW-SÜD eG ( Sindelfingen ). The members of this network work together with specialist workshop organizations, e.g. B. with the Federal Association of Workshops for Disabled People. In addition, there is a cooperation with the respective regional working groups of the workshops.
