GReeeN (born April 27, 1989 ; bourgeois Pasquale Valentin Denefleh ) is a German rap , battlerap and reggae artist. He used to call himself Der Grüne or B! Smoke . Since 2014 he has also been working under the pseudonym Grinch Hill , which he describes as the "primitive side" of the GReeeN, or as its "black side".

Life

GReeeN comes from Mannheim. He grew up as a child of divorced parents with his sister Celine Denefleh and his brother.

Career

For three years he was part of the duo dieZwei . In 2013 he passed a qualification for the Splash! -Edition of the video battle tournament (VBT), which made it into the top 50, but with 1.1% in the user vote was not enough for participation. He also took part in Julien's BlogBattle 2013. In the qualification he reached 70 out of 100 possible points. He lost the first battle against Winin. However, since he left the tournament before taking on the favorite and eventual winner SpongeBOZZ , the organizer Julien Sewering Greeen continued. He also lost this battle. In the July blog battle 2014 he competed in the first bonus battle against the runner-up in 2012, the Asian, under the name Grinch Hill. He did this according to his own statement to separate his battlerap from his normal music.

He recorded his album Forgotten Kingdom in Switzerland. On January 20th, 2016, the collaboration between New Green Order Records and Sony Music Group was announced.

In 2016 he was eliminated in the semifinals of the Julien's Music Cypher . Overall he was third.

He had several collaborations with Gary Washington during the JMC .

On June 28, 2019, his second studio album Smaragd was released in collaboration with Irievibrations Records ( Groove Attack ) . GReeeN has announced a new version of its last album for November 8, 2019. This will be called Smaragd Plus and appear as an extended play in addition to his album. It will only contain new songs. The first single including a music video for these new titles was released on September 27, with the title No Time . The second single, Fraction , was released on October 21, 2019 .

On May 29, 2020, GReeeN released the song Ab & An . At the same time, the associated music video was published on YouTube in which he announced his third studio album, Highland, for August 28, 2020. Ab & An is the first single from this album.

Grinch Hill

Grinch Hill made its first appearance in Julien's BlogBattle in 2014 and is the pseudonym of GReeeN who is described as "the bad brother", "antihero" or "the black side of the hippie". Grinch is usually painted on the face, or wears an iron mask that extends over half of his face. The difference between GReeeN and Grinch Hill is "the lyrics," as Pasquale describes it. And another recognition factor is the different personalities of the two performers, who do not make the difference interchangeable. Since the Juliensblogbattle 2018, where Grinch finished fourth, the pitch and voice of Grinch Hill has also been a little different, it is rather darker than GreeeN's actual one.
