The GWF Berlin Championship is a wrestling title of the wrestling promotion German Wrestling Federation (GWF). Together with the GWF World Heavyweight Title , the GWF Berlin Title is the oldest active German wrestling title.

history

The title was introduced on July 13, 1996 to satisfy GWF fans' desire for a championship for local clashes. In the meantime, the title has also been defended outside of Berlin. So z. B. in Weinheim , Rostock, Herne , Kiel , Oberhausen , Hennigsdorf and Lübeck . The best-known titleholders are WWE Superstar Alexander Wolfe ( Axel Tischer ), series star Pascal Spalter , Lucha Underground superstar Matt Cross and former WWE Superstar PJ Black .
