German Wrestling Federation (GWF) is the name of a German wrestling promotion that is based in Berlin . Ahmed Chaer and Crazy Sexy Mike are the promoters .

history

Beginnings

The German Wrestling Federation has been organizing wrestling shows since 1995. Our own events are held almost every week across Germany . The league also runs a wrestling school of the same name in Berlin. Several national and international stars have already been committed to their doctorate. For example Too Cold Scorpio , Douglas Williams , Matt Cross , Ulf Herman , Lloyd Anoa'i , PJ Black , Atsushi Aoki , Chris Raaber , Wesna Busic , Michael Kovac and Jonny Storm .

With "GWF Winter Slam", Crazy Sexy Mike, Marty Shaw and Ahmed Chaer started to organize wrestling shows in Germany in December 1995. Organized in an association, the first events were held in front of a paying audience in the Statthaus Böcklerpark.

Wrestling schools

With the increasing success of the doctorate, separate training rooms were organized in 1997 and the Berlin training school of the German Wrestling Federation opened in 1997. Ahmed and Hussen Chaer (Crazy Sexy Mike) and Marty Shaw, trained in the Hart Dungeon by Bruce and Keith Hart , took over the training.

After Marty Shaw's death, Ivan Kiev , Ali Aslan and the Mexican Orlando Silver became assistant coaches in the Berlin wrestling school of the German Wrestling Federation. In 2011 the German Wrestling Federation opened a second wrestling school in Dresden . The coach there was Alexander Wolfe , who is currently under contract with WWE .

cooperation

In 2010 the German Wrestling Federation worked closely with the German Stampede Wrestling (GSW) league . The German Wrestling Federation functioned as a development territory and training school. But after the uncertain future of the GSW, it was held under its own banner again in 2011.

There were also cooperation shows with other German wrestling promotions. So z. B. 2015 with westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) or 2003 with the Athletik Club Weinheim (ACW) . In 2014 the German Wrestling Federation operated a regional offshoot of the promotion in northern Germany under the name "Northern Wrestling Division".

After Alexander Wolfe signed the WWE, they separated from the Dresden GWF Wrestling School, whose students now organize wrestling shows as Next Step .

expansion

On October 1st, 2011 the show "GWF Berlin Wrestling Night 6" was held in the Statthaus Böcklerpark, which had more than 300 spectators. After the December event in the Statthaus Böcklerpark attracted 300 spectators, it was held in 2012 in the shake, a circus tent at Berlin's Ostbahnhof. With the shake as the “new home” of the GWF, new fans and target groups were reached. From then on, the GWF and its events were part of the Berlin party scene and the regular events were always completely sold out. In addition, in 2014 they began to hold events in Hennigsdorf (GWF Next Step) and in Waren an der Müritz. Other regular venues are Oberhausen, Bad Ems, Lübeck, Hagen, Kiel, Hamburg, Rostock, Herne and Andernach.

After attracting over 500 spectators each month per show in 2014, the German Wrestling Federation held monthly Huxley's Neue Welt in Berlin in the following year . A traditional wrestling hall, in which the VdB held tournaments in the 1970s and which holds around 1000 spectators.

The German Wrestling Federation has been operated by ChaerBros Wrestling GbR since February 2015. One of the company's offices is located in Berlin-Neukölln.

Event series

The German Wrestling Federation regularly offers various series / concepts of events. With (almost) monthly events in the shake at Berlin Ostbahnhof - such as the "Berlin Wrestling Night" - the German Wrestling Federation is part of the party scene in Berlin's nightlife. On the “party mile” between Berghain , Watergate , Matrix and Simon-Dach-Straße , the GWF Berlin Wrestling Nights regularly attract several hundred fans to the shake.
