Axel Tischer (born November 5, 1986 in Dresden ) is a German wrestler currently under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment , where he appears under the ring name Alexander Wolfe on the NXT UK brand. Previously, he briefly worked for WWE's SmackDown brand and was more prominent in the NXT development area, where he was formerly NXT Tag Team Champion. In the German independent scene he was known by the ring name Axeman .
Wrestling career
Independent Leagues (2004-2015)
He started wrestling training at the age of 13. He played his first wrestling match on May 22, 2004 at East Side Wrestling . He performed mostly in Germany and Europe. He won his first wrestling title on April 10, 2010 when he and Ivan Kiev won the GSW Tag Team Championship . With Ivan Kiev he formed the New Divine Tag Team . They lost the title the next day to Ahmed Chaer and Crazy Sexy Mike. On November 5, 2011, he defeated X-Dream and won the GSW Breakthrough Championship . He lost the title to his former tag team partner Ivan Kiev. On August 12, 2012, he defeated El Generico and won the wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion . He lost the title to Tommy End on June 1, 2013. On February 1, 2014, he defeated Pascal Spalter and won the GWF Berlin Championship . He lost the title again to Pascal Spalter on June 7, 2014. On January 18, 2014, he won a steel cage match against Carnage and thus won the vacant wXw Shotgun Championship . He lost the title to John Klinger on October 11, 2014. He played his last match in the independent scene on March 29, 2015 for Westside Xtreme Wrestling .
WWE (since 2015)
NXT (2015-2018)
On April 13, 2015, Tischer signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment . On July 15, 2015, Tischer made his television debut under the ring name Alexander Wolfe on NXT , the WWE development league, when he lost to Samoa Joe . After that, he appeared increasingly in NXT house shows. At the October 12, 2016 edition of NXT, he and Sawyer Fulton defeated Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Classic Tag Team Tournament 2016 . Since then he has formed the SAnitY stable with Sawyer Fulton, Eric Young and Nikki Cross . After Sawyer Fulton sustained an injury in a match, he was replaced by Killian Dain .
On August 19, 2017, Alexander Wolfe became the first German to win a WWE title. At the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III , he and Eric Young secured the NXT Tag Team Championship . Killian Dain was also considered a champion under the Freebird Rule. Dain and Young lost the title to the Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly ) in the NXT edition on December 20, 2017 .
Main Roster Debut and NXT UK (2019 - present)
As part of the "Superstars Shakeup", SAnitY was drafted to Smackdown Live on April 17, 2018, but only Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young and Kilian Dain were drafted, Nikki Cross stayed in the NXT and she was thus split from the team. They made their debut on the June 19th edition of SmackDown. Team SAnitY broke up on April 15, 2019 when Young was drafted into Raw during the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-up. On April 20, 2019, Wolfe made its debut under the NXT UK brand and founded the stable empire with Marcel Barthel , Fabian Aichner and Walter .
