Gabi , real name Gabriel Fernández Arenas (born July 10, 1983 in Madrid ), is a Spanish football player .

Career

Gabi comes from the youth of Atlético Madrid . While he made the leap to the first team of the Madrid in 2003, he should finally make the breakthrough with the loan year with suburban club Getafe FC . He succeeded right away, but was only able to continue his upward trend to a limited extent due to the strong competition at the "Colchoneros". So in the summer of 2007 he preferred to move to the ambitious club from Aragon , Real Saragossa , rather than staying in Madrid . The transfer fee was nine million euros. After four years as a regular in Saragossa, Gabi returned to Atlético Madrid in 2011 and was able to fight for a regular place there as well.
