Gablenz (noble family)
The Gablenz family is a Lower Lusatian aristocratic family with the headquarters of the same name in the former district of Sorau .
history
The first officially documented bearer of the name is Heinricus de Gabelenze in 1221, while Heinrich von Gablenz begins the immediate family line on Friedersdorf in 1432. The line Göhren was granted the Saxon-Coburg baron status on February 24, 1836, which was granted by the Kingdom of Saxony on May 8, 1837 for the same Heinrich von Gablenz (1762-1843) (on Unworthiness and Kittlitz), Kgl. Saxon major general, was confirmed.
In Austria, this baron was recognized on June 1, 1857 by the highest decree for Ludwig Baron von Gablenz (1814–1874). For the same Ludwig Freiherr von Gablenz, an all-highest decree of April 30, 1873 granted the Austrian name and coat of arms association as Freiherr von Gablenz-Eskeles.

In silver, a red bar in front of two three-pronged black forks on green stems. On the helmet with red and silver covers, two upwardly sloping forks like in the shield.
