Gabriel Pérsico

Gabriel Pérsico (* 1955 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine flautist and music teacher.

Pérsico studied music at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata and obtained a doctorate from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba . He studied recorder with Mario Videla and Gustavo Samela as well as in Bologna with Pedro Memelsdorff , transverse flute with Alfredo Ianelli , baroque flute with Wilbert Hazelzet in The Hague, chamber music with Tomás Tichauer , music analysis and composition with Mariano Etkin and Francisco Kröpfl, and music education with Judith Ackoschky . He teaches recorder at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música “Carlos L. Buchardo” and at the Conservatorio de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires , holds the chair for music history at the Faculty of Art and Musicology of the Universidad Católica Argentina , where he heads the Centro de Estudios de Música Antigua (CEMAn).

As a flute soloist, Pérsico a. a. with the Orquesta de Cámara de la Municipalidad de La Plata , the Camerata Bariloche , the Academia Bach , the Conjunto Pro Música de Rosario , the Orquesta Barroca del Mercosur , the Orquesta Barroca del Plata and the Orquesta Barroca del Suquía ; as a chamber musician has worked with groups for ancient and chamber music such as the vocal and instrumental group Juglerías ”, the groups Pro Arte de Flautas Dulces de Buenos Aires and In nomine , the Novus quartet and the Gabriel Senanes quintet . He formed duo formations with the guitarist Silvia Fernández and the harpsichordist Marcelo Bussi . He performed contemporary music with the Agrupación Nueva Música , the Asociación Argentina de Compositores , the Fundación San Telmo and the Grupo de Investigación e Improvisación Musical (GEIM) led by Carmelo Saitta .
