Gabriel Vicaire

Gabriel Vicaire , origin. Louis-Gabriel-Charles Vicaire (born January 25, 1848 in Belfort , Dépt. Territoire de Belfort , † September 23, 1900 in Paris ), was a French lawyer and writer .

Vicaire was the son of the administrative officer Alphonse Vicaire and his wife Elisa Pitet. The bibliographer Georges Vicaire was his cousin.

Between 1860 and 1864 Vicaire completed his school days at the Lycée de Bourg-en-Bresse and completed it in Lyon the following year . He then studied law in Paris. He took part in the Franco-Prussian War and was able to practice law in Paris after the war.

Vicaire was soon able to successfully debut his first anthology of poetry, and through this, some of the Parnassians became aware of him. Today Vicaire is also part of this literary association.

Gabriel Vicaire died on September 23, 1900 in Paris after a long and serious illness.

Honors

Various streets and squares were also named after him: in Ambérieu , Belfort, Bourg-en-Bresse, Lyon and Paris.
