Gabriele Fattorini
Gabriele Fattorini (* around 1570 in Faenza ; † around 1615 ) was an Italian composer and organist .
Life
The fragmentary information about Fattorini's life comes almost exclusively from the dedications and prefaces to his musical compositions, all of which were printed by Ricciardo Amadino in Venice between 1598 and 1608 . Between 1598 and 1601 he was cantor of the Camaldolese Marian Abbey of Carceri in the province of Padua . In 1602 he moved to Venice, where he stayed until 1604. Fattorini was probably also the organist and maestro di cappella at Faenza Cathedral .
Fattorini's fame is primarily associated with his sacred concerts for two voices , which first appeared in 1600. His second book of motets , which Donna Deodata Leoni commissioned and which is also dedicated to her, is also famous .
Fattini's oeuvre also includes secular music, including two collections of madrigals for five voices. Some of Fattorini's madrigals were incorporated into foreign collections in the early seventeenth century.
