Gabriele Müller-Trimbusch

Gabriele Müller-Trimbusch (born August 25, 1945 ) is a German local politician ( FDP ).

Career

Müller-Trimbusch studied English, history and philosophy at the Universities of Kiel and Bloomington ( Indiana , USA). She then passed the first and second state exams and worked as a lecturer at the University of Stuttgart from 1971 to 1990 .

In 1990 she was elected mayor for social affairs, youth and health of the state capital Stuttgart for the first time . In 1998 and 2006 she was re-elected for eight years each. She ended her job as mayor at her own request in 2010.

Müller-Trimbusch is chairwoman of the social committee of the Baden-Württemberg City Council , the Rampe Theater in Stuttgart and the Friends of Tel Aviv University (Baden-Württemberg Committee). Furthermore, she is on the board of the weekly newspaper Context: Weekly newspaper responsible for the field of education.

On the SWR talk show Nachtcafé on September 26, 2014, she reported about her Parkinson's disease .
