Gail Dines (* 1958 in England) is a British professor, author and activist of the anti-porn movement.

Dines received her Ph.D. at the University of Salford in England. She went to Israel, where she founded the women's movement Woman to Woman at the age of 22 . She has been at Wheelock College in Boston since 1986 , where she was appointed Professor of Sociology and Women's Studies and heads the American Studies department . Dines is co-author of the best-selling media textbook Gender, Race and Class in Media , which is studied in more than 200 colleges in the United States and won the Myers Center Award for the Study of Human Rights . She also co- edited Pornography: The Production and Consumption of Inequality . Many of her articles on pornography , media and violence have appeared in academic journals and books, newspapers and magazines such as Newsweek , Time , Working Woman, New York Times , Boston Globe , USA Today , Daily Mail (England).

She is a founding member of Stop Porn Culture , an international movement against pornography.

She is a co-founder of the National Feminist Anti-Pornography Movement .

In addition to her own television appearances, Dines has been featured in a number of documentaries such as The Strength to Resist: The Media's Impact on Women and Girls (Cambridge Documentary Films).
