The Gaisspitze (also Geißspitze ) is a 2779  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Verwall group in Tyrol , Austria , north of Galtür .

Location and surroundings

The Gaisspitze is a conical mountain and is located in the Fluh group , which is located in the southern part of the western Verwall group . To the south and west, the mountain slopes down into the Paznaun Valley . The next higher mountain is the Glatte Berg ( 2866  m above sea level ), about 1 km north of the Gaisspitze. These two mountains are by the 2620  m above sea level. A. high Muttenjoch separated from each other.

Routes to the summit

Routes lead from both the Heilbronner Hütte and the Friedrichshafener Hütte to the Muttenjoch. From there you can walk to the summit in half an hour, partly with a safety rope. For the entire ascent, two to two and a half hours are specified from the Friedrichshafener hut and two and a half hours from the Heilbronner hut.
