Gaizka Toquero Pinedo (born August 9, 1984 in Vitoria-Gasteiz , Basque Country ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

Toquero began his career in the youth team of Ariznabarra, from where he moved to Real Sociedad San Sebastián in 2002 . In 2003 he came to the second team of Deportivo Alavés . In 2005/06, the team from Segunda División B rose. He then turned his back on Deportivo and moved to SD Lemona, where he was again active in Segunda División B. After just one season, the striker went to Sestao RC, where he again finished tenth in the same league. Only in the 2008/09 season he came to a club of the Primera División, from these he was in turn awarded to the second division club SD Eibar , where he scored four goals in 15 games.

After returning in the second half of the 2008-09 season, he made his debut for Athletic Bilbao when he came on as a substitute for Velez in the 82nd minute in the game against Espanyol Barcelona on January 4, 2009. The game ended 1-1. His first goal was achieved by Torquero on April 21, 2009 against CD Numancia , when he scored the interim 1-1 equalizer in a 2-1 win. After the cup final in 2008/09 Athletic was able to qualify for the Europa League . The striker made his debut at European club level in the third round of qualification against Swiss Young Boys Bern on July 30, 2009. The home game was lost 0-1.

For the 2015/16 season Toquero returned to Deportivo Alavés . In August 2017, he moved to Real Saragossa , where he would end his career after the 2018/19 season .
