Galeano Salas

Galeano Salas (* 1988 ) is a Mexican-American opera singer (tenor).

Life

Galeano Salas grew up in Mexico and came to Texas when he was 13. There he attended high school and discovered his interest in singing. He received his bachelor's degree in this subject from the University of Houston and his master's degree from Yale University in Connecticut. He obtained his artistic diploma in 2016 from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera since the 2016/17 season. In its series of performances in April 2018, he served as an officer in Ernst Krenek 's The Dictator , and as Rupprecht in Viktor Ullmann's The Broken Jug with. In the 2018/19 season he was accepted into the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera.

He became known to a wider audience when he stepped in for Pavol Breslik, who fell ill during the evening, and the part of Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi from the side of a performance of Puccini's Ilertrico at the Bavarian State Opera, which was broadcast on the internet on December 23, 2017 sang here. In the following performance and since May 2019 also in the regular cast, he staged this role.
