Galina Alexandrovna Polskich
Galina Alexandrovna Polskich ( Russian Галина Александровна Польских ; born November 27, 1939 in Moscow ) is a Russian actress. She has appeared in around 120 films since 1962.
Life
Polskich was born in a poor family. Her father died during World War II and her mother died of typhoid a few years later. At the age of eight she was sent to an orphanage where she had spent a few months. After that, she grew up with her grandmother. In 1960 she was admitted to the Moscow Film School and trained by Sergei Gerasimow and Tamara Makarova .
Galina Polskich made her film debut in 1962 in the internationally successful film Das Mädchen Tanja in the leading role of Tanja. In the 1960s she appeared in productions by the directors Georgi Danelija ( Stopover in Moscow , 1964), Grigori Chuchrai ( Once Upon a Time An Old Age Lived With His Old One , 1965) and Sergei Gerasimow ( The Journalist , 1967). She played in two DEFA films: in Konrad Wolf's I Was Nineteen (1968) a Red Army soldier and in Kurt Maetzig's Januskopf (1972). Since the late 1960s, Polskich was also seen in television films. She took on important roles in the war films Front Without Flanks (1975) and Front Behind the Front Line (1978). In 1979 she was honored with the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR .
