action

The idealistic do-gooder and cinema pioneer Johnny First comes to a sleepy wild west town called Santa Carolina, which is home to rowdy and trigger-happy cowboys. It begins with film screenings, which after a short time transform the town's inhabitants into well-behaved gentlemen who now prefer to drink milk instead of whiskey. The beautiful dancer Diana, whose heart was previously considered as unconquerable as Fort Knox , falls in love with First, which fuels the jealousy of the local pastor. The saloon owner Harry also sees his business going bankrupt through First. While First's popular demonstrations get around to the Indians, the pastor and Harry are always plotting new nasties to stop him. Most recently, they even pay the notorious robber Black Jack to murder First. First, who survived the attack, temporarily leaves to prepare for the wedding to Diana. In his absence, a certain Mr. Second appears in Santa Carolina, who lets the townspeople fall into their old habits with primitive violence films. On his return seriously disappointed First leaves Santa Carolina, but is caught up on the way by his loyal lover and the remorseful Black Jack, who wants to dedicate his life to the "almighty" film from now on.
