Catarina Eklund-Gustafsson (born January 19, 1970 in Charlottenberg ) is a former Swedish biathlete .

Catarina Eklund is Christina Eklund's twin sister . She works as an occupational therapist , lives in Torsby and started for the local association Skidklubben Bore . Eklund began biathlon in 1986, first took part in an international biathlon championship as part of the 1991 World Championships in Lahti and was 25th in the individual and 35th in the sprint. With Carolin Hilden , Inger Björkbom and her sister, she also achieved fifth place in the team race. In 1992 she was one of the first women to take part in biathlon competitions at the Winter Olympics in Albertville . The Swede was only used in one of the three possible races, the individual, and came in 29th there. At the interim Olympic World Championships in 1993 in Borowetz , she reached 27th place in the sprint and was 22nd in the individual. In addition, Eklund and Eva-Karin Westin , Maria Schylander and her sister seventh in the relay race and alongside Heléne Dahlberg , Eva-Karin Westin and her sister ninth in the team race. In the 1992/93 season Eklund also achieved her best international career result as eleventh of a single in Antholz . She achieved placements in the points ranks several times in the course of her career. The last highlight of her career was the participation in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , where Eklund was used in all three races. At the side of Eva-Karin Westin, Maria Schylander and Heléne Dahlberg, she reached ninth place in the final run, she was 59th in the sprint, 60th in the individual. After the games, she ended her career.
