Lev Durov (2008)

Lev Konstantinowitsch Durow ( Russian Лев Константинович Дуров ; * December 23, 1931 in Moscow ; † August 20, 2015 ibid) was a Russian actor , theater director and people 's artist of the USSR .

Life

Lev Durov was born in 1931 in the Lefortovo district of Moscow . In 1954, Durov graduated from the Moscow Art Theater with an acting degree . Since 1955 he played in numerous Soviet films. He also worked as an actor at the Russian Academic Youth Theater from 1954 to 1963 and since 1967 at the Moscow Theater on Malaya Bronnaya.

In 1978 Durov finished his directing studies at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts and since then has also worked as a director at the theater on Malaya Bronnaya.

Durov died in Moscow on August 20, 2015 at the age of 83.

Views

Durov condemned the wars in Afghanistan , Chechnya and South Ossetia . He was by conviction not a member of the CPSU and described the Soviet ideology as illusory and false, but very powerful.
