Galina Petrovna Bucharina

Galina Petrovna Bucharina ( Russian Галина Петровна Бухарина , English transcription Galina Bukharina ; born February 14, 1945 in Voronezh ) is a former Soviet sprinter .

At the European Indoor Games in 1967 she won bronze over 50 m .

The following year, she won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the Soviet team at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City .

Another bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay followed at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 .

In 1972 she reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Munich over 100 m and came in fifth place with the Soviet team in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 1970 she became the Soviet 100 m champion. She set her personal best over this distance on July 28, 1972 with 11.3 seconds in Minsk .
