The Gallen Nunatak is a Nunatak in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the McCuddin Mountains it rises 2.5 km northwest of Putzke Peak on the south side of the Balchunas Pass .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of the United States Navy's own measurements and aerial photographs from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the Nunatak in 1974 after Kevin P. Gallen (* 1946), officer on duty on the Amundsen- Scott South Pole Station in 1971.
