The Putzke Peak is a 2,325 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the McCuddin Mountains, it rises from a ridge that extends northeast from Mount Petras .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1974 by Stanley G. Putzke (1920-2005), Commanding Officer of the icebreaker USCGC Staten Iceland at of operation Deep Freeze of 1971 and the 1972nd
