The Gallows Point (English for Galgenspitze ) is the more northerly of two lower, parallel running headlands , which mark the northwestern extension of the Gamma Island in the group of Melchior Islands .
Presumably the headland got its name from scientists from the British Discovery Investigations , who carried out a survey in 1927. Further measurements followed in 1942, 1943 and 1948 during Argentine Antarctic expeditions. The naming background has not survived.
