The Gamezkogel is 3126 m above sea level. A. high mountain of the Kaunergrat , a mountain range of the Ötztal Alps . It is immediately adjacent to the Rofelewand , which is in the northwest of this mountain. The mountain is rarely visited, which is due to its proximity to its more prominent neighbor and its difficult accessibility. A small, hidden glacier basin, the Gamezkogelferner , lies in the west. In the other directions it is bordered by the Seebachtal in the south and by the Totenferner in the north.
Routes
The normal route leads out of the Pitztal from Trenkwald over the steep path towards Verpeiljoch , until the steep, wooded valley slopes are overcome. Continue along the path towards Verpeiljoch into the Seebach valley and over the Seebach . Up through a steep step of the creek and beyond it to the right over green slopes into a scree cirque under the mountain. Keeping to the left up to a rock bar, along this into a rock corner, where it is possible to overcome the bar upwards ( difficulty level UIAA I ). Over the moraine walls up to the Gamezkogelferner, which you leave on the left. Directly at the corner of the Ferners right up over an extremely steep, but only short, earthy gully (difficulty level I) to the south ridge . Over the blocky wide south ridge north up to the summit with Steinmann .
Alternatively, some very steep gullies lead from the Totenferner up to the Gamezkogel ridge.
