The Gamma Hill is about 300 m high hill on the Tabarin Peninsula in the north of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the banks of the Fridtjof Sound .
The name of the hill followed extensive geophysical investigations of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey between 1959 and 1960. It is named after the gamma , a unit for the magnetic flux density that has been replaced by the Tesla since 1970 .
