Gandarela is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Gandarela belongs to the Guimarães county in the Braga district . The community had an area of 1.72 km² and 1083 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The community is predominantly urban.
On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Gandarela and Conde were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Conde e Gandarela .
