The Ganesh V is a 6770 m high mountain in the Ganesh Himal on the Nepalese-Tibetan border.
Ascent history
The first ascent of Ganesh V was made by a Japanese-Nepalese expedition in 1980. The ascent began near the village of Chilime and included four camps. The ascent route to the summit led over the north ridge. On April 21, the two Japanese Tatsumi Sasaki and Akihiko Komori, the Nepalese Lhakpa Dorjee and two Sherpas reached the summit. The following day, the Japanese Norimasa Okabe, Kinichi Hamaguchi, Takeshi Shinohara and Saburo Saito, the Nepalese Zimba Zangbu and three Sherpas climbed the summit.
