The passage grave of Gamskær , one's passage grave with auxiliary chamber ( Danish bikammer ). It is located in a round hill east of Kobberup in the Viborg municipality in Jutland in Denmark . The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems , which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands.

Of the approximately 500 preserved passage graves in Denmark, there are only 30 with ancillary chambers . In Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, the other countries with Nordic megalithic architecture, there are none. The megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr.

description

The mound is about 15.0 m in diameter. The oval north-east-south-west oriented chamber measured about 4.0 × 2.0 m, the side chamber about 1.7 × 1.0 m. The corridor in the southeast was about 4.5 m long. There was a threshold stone at the entrance to the chamber . The floor of the chamber was destroyed while the floor of the adjoining chamber was intact. The passage grave was surrounded by a seal made of stones and flint . In front of the entrance there was once a large sacrificial layer, in which many broken clay pots were found. Only one of the large bearing stones has been preserved.

The flint axes from Kobberup were found nearby and the burial box and Møllehøje from Kobberup are located .
