Passage grave of Staberdorf
Location of the grave on Fehmarn |
The passage grave of Staberdorf , at 23.3 m altitude on the Hinrichsberg, north of Staberdorf is on the island of Fehmarn in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . The megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) was built between 3500 and 2800 BC. And has the Sprockhoff no. 256.
The slightly bent large stone grave (gangestones are not occupied) is located in the middle of the farmland and is one of the last, relatively undestroyed large stone graves in Fehmarn. In the tourist brochure it is wrongly stated that it is a barn bed containing the remains of two burial chambers. All 14 bearing stones are in situ . There are two end stones on the northern narrow side, one is missing in the south. There are five capstones, some of which are impressive.
In 1931 E. Sprockhoff spoke of a 10.0 × 1.7 m long (and thus unusually long for the island) chamber with a noticeable kink in the middle. E. Sprockhoff assumed that the middle yoke of the strangely kinked chamber was missing. But he also thought it possible that there are two chambers standing very close together. Both variants are so far unique in the area of passage graves.
