Staberdorf is a village with 76 inhabitants in the southeast of the island of Fehmarn and part of the city of Fehmarn in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . The village extends as a street village in north-south direction.

location

In the vicinity of the place there are numerous prehistoric sites, including the large stone grave Staberdorf with a capstone more than 3 m long, 2 m wide and 2 m high. Not far east of the village rises a long hill, the Hinrichsberg , with 27 m the highest point on the island of Fehmarn.

To the north of the Staberhuk lighthouse, the Staberholz forest extends , which is the largest forest on Fehmarn with an area of ​​5.5 hectares.

school

The village school was first mentioned in 1615 and in 1802 it was elevated to the status of "own" district school. The first school building was mentioned in 1833. In 1876 a new schoolhouse, which was occupied until recently, was built. This school was two-class from 1948 to 1954. It was dissolved in 1970 when the school children were transferred to the elementary school in Burg . A total of 25 teachers are known by name. In the 1980s there was a restaurant in the old school, and in the 1990s it was converted into holiday apartments.

Staberdorf has a Söll (pond) and a (reconstructed) Thingstätte , which adorns a small elevation with a linden tree. In an earlier facility, six boulders comprised the thing site.

The Horensberg tavern, which used to be on the beach and was considered a smuggler's nest , is no longer preserved.

The Staberhuk lighthouse was built in 1903 (after a torpedo practice run). Its height is 23 m (with a visibility of 15 nautical miles). It has been electrically lit since 1928. There is a particularly large boulder on the beach in front of the lighthouse : dee Drummelsteen .
