Marienlicht is a settlement on the German Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn and part of the island town of the same name.

Location and sights

Marienuchte is located in the northeast of Fehmarn, directly on the coast. The closest towns are Puttgarden (west) and Presen (south), although the settlement can only be reached by car via Puttgarden. From Presen there is an agricultural path along the coast that can be used on foot or by bike.

To the north of the actual settlement, the houses of which are partly rented out to tourists as holiday apartments , is the naval coastal station Marienuchter , which was mainly used during the Cold War to locate ships and to eavesdrop on communications and is still operated by the Bundeswehr today.

The new and the old lighthouse Marienuchter are two well-known sights of the village.
