Katharinenhof in the time of National Socialism
On behalf of Reinhard Heydrich , Peter Wiepert - a cousin of Lina Heydrich - managed the Katharinenhof Fehmarn, which was part of the SS Nordhav Foundation and was operated as an SS rest home.
Katharinenhof Museum
The privately operated open-air museum Katharinenhof (not to be confused with the Museum Katharinenhof Kranenburg ) has been closed since 2017. Previously there were several old buildings such as a blacksmith , a weaver , a pottery and a printing press to visit the 19th century. An old bakery and a smoking room were kept in operation for demonstrations. In addition to agricultural equipment, mechanical toys, furniture and musical equipment were also on display. In addition, exhibits from the GDR were on view: everyday objects, a piece of concrete grating from the border fortifications and a searchlight and a Trabbi .
