Jan Schröter

Jan Schröter (born September 20, 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German author and journalist. He mainly writes scripts, travel guides and crime fiction.

Life

After studying special education and German studies , Schröter opened a bookshop. He also worked regularly for the Hamburg-based private broadcaster OK Radio as a copywriter and presenter of a travel program. From 1988 he worked as a freelance journalist and columnist. Among other things, he wrote columns for the Deutsche Allgemeine Sonntagsblatt . He reviewed travel guides and wrote short crime novels for popular magazines. In Edition Temmen a number from 1992 appeared illustrated guidebooks from him in which he north German tourism destinations such as Fehmarn , Wangerooge and Borkumintroduced. Polyglott-Verlag published a Rügen travel guide from him. Schröter also wrote scripts for various German television productions such as the Großstadtrevier .

In the field of fiction, Schröter began with crime stories and novels. His debut novel Angels Fall Deeper , in which a long-term student from Hamburg is looking for a fellow student who has disappeared, was published in 1994 by Verlag Hamburger Klönschnack. In 2008 Schröter published other crime novels such as Der Rikschamann at Edition Temmen and the short crime series Nur mal briefly ... and it's over . Since 2012 he has published three novels in the paperback program of Droemer Knaur . Most recently, lifebuoys appeared there about a group of people in their mid-fifties who are catching up on their Ababfahrt in the form of a paddle tour on the Weser . The Norderstedter local part of the Hamburger Abendblatt has included its Saturday column Schröters Wochenschau since 2012 .

Schröter lives in Wrist , Schleswig-Holstein.
