The Ganotzgraben is being built in the southwestern part of the municipality of Kainach near Voitsberg , in the northwestern part of the cadastral municipality of Kohlschwarz , southwest of the main town of Kainach near Voitsberg, south of the Moki farm and northeast of the Ganotz farm. It flows first in a flat left curve and then relatively straight overall to the northeast. In the northwest of the Kohlschwarz cadastral community, it flows south of the main town of Kainach near Voitsberg and Gasthof Lind and northeast of Hof Hemmer about 150 meters west of the L341 into the Kainach , which then turns left. On its course, the Ganotzgraben takes on two unnamed watercourses from the right.
