The Gap Nunatak is a 1030 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac-Robertson Land . In the David Range of the Framnes Mountains, it looms in the center of the Hordern Gap .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it Metoppen (Norwegian for Mittelspitze ), mapped it using aerial photos taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . Participants of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions changed the name to reflect the geographical location of the Nunatak in the Hordern Gap.
