Garbada ( Gujarati ગરબાડા ) is a large village on the banks of Somnath Talav in Garbada Taluka ( Dahod district ) in the Indian state of Gujarat . According to tradition, the place should have got its name from the holy Somnath Mandir, Gujarat, who was an example for Lord Shiva . It is 222 kilometers from Ahmedabad and 170 kilometers from Vadodara. The district of Dahod ("two borders") lies in the triangle between the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh . According to the 2011 census, Garbada had 22,691 inhabitants, almost 90 percent of whom were tribesmen .

The constituency of Garbada (Gujarati: ગરબડા વિધાનસભા બેઠક) is one of the 182 constituencies of the state parliament of Gujarat in the Dahod district. This seat is reserved for members of the Scheduled Tribes . The last constituency delimitation took place in 2008.
